Our Story
Midwest Solar Solutions was founded in 2017 as a locally owned and operated solar energy provider based in Shiloh, Illinois, just south of O’Fallon. Joe Bowler and Jim Lloyd — our president and operations manager — hired a small team and got to work building an end-to-end partner for customers’ solar needs.
Since our founding MWSS’s installation team continued to expand, and we created a full-time, dedicated service team to troubleshoot any issues post-install. The footprint we serve has also expanded, as we complete residential and commercial work in the St. Louis Metro East, Springfield, Sparta and Champaign-Urbana regions of Illinois.
Joe, Jim and the Midwest Solar Solutions crew are passionate about emerging technologies, future-proofing homes and providing excellent service throughout the solar process. Our original team members have backgrounds as licensed electricians, so we are well-versed in safely designing, installing and servicing panels of any type.
Joe and Jim — not to mention several members of our team — were born and raised in southern Illinois, went to high school and college here, and raise their families here. Midwest Solar takes pride in our Illinois roots. We are grateful for the opportunity to better local communities now while positioning future generations for a more sustainable future.
We are not in this industry to make a quick buck, cash out and leave. We are from here. We continue to live here. And we’re here to stay for the long haul. We look forward to implementing solar systems and servicing existing ones for years to come in our neighborhoods. One conversation, one customer and one panel at a time, we’re helping create a brighter future for our community.
